I have a wide range of experience that has brought me to this place in time. Originally my focus was in science, as I wanted to be a Marine Chemist. I got sidetracked in Business, with business administration and then became a Paralegal. After close to 14 years in the Paralegal industry, I worked in non-profit management as an Administrative Manager and Sr. Association Administrator and in Development. I have had 25+ years of experience with animals and animal care, 10 years experience with elder services and 5 years experience with spiritual development and formation.
I have lived in Portland since 1994 and embrace the Pacific Northwest lifestyle. I am committed to social and economic justice as well as to a life lived fully. I seek to develop compassionate care for our environment, our culture and way of life. I work to incorporate and embrace within my services a philosophy embracing the Quaker testimonies of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community and Equality, along with my commitment as a Benedictine incorporating the additional vows of Stability, Fidelity, Conversion of life, Hospitality and Humility. In the way of St. Benedict, it is my belief that everything that we do is important. With reverence for our creation, to every task I seek to bring a dedication to fulfill the task in accord with these goals. The three areas where I focus my service and that are the most important to me are:
- The care of animals including domesticated and wild, pets and companions ~ those souls other than humans that we share our lives with.
- The care of seniors, assisting in many ways to help these valued members of our society as they transition throughout their lives.
- My relationship with the divine, honoring the journeys that each of us is on and being a companion for others on their journey.
