Quakers worship in two ways, Un-Programed (we are all ministers for one another) and Programmed (a more traditional style of worship with a minister). Currently, there are two places of worship for Un-Programmed Quakers in Portland, Multnomah Monthly Meeting http://www.multnomahfriends.org and Bridge City Friends Meeting http://www.bridgecitymeeting.org. In plain speak, going to "Meeting" (for worship) is going to church and a Monthly Meeting indicates that it is a group that meets on a monthly basis to conduct business. Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon brings together Christian Faiths from across the state. EMO has several ministries, works on public policy, has a nationally recognized environmental stewardship program and works to increase and enhance dialogue between various forms of faith and worship. http://www.emoregon.org.

| I first became interested in Judaism in high school as many of my friends were Jewish. Some were Orthodox and had strict practices, others were not. My studies locally led to Rabbi Aryeh Hirsdhfield, http://rebaryeh.com/ of P’nai Or, http://www.pnaiorpdx.org. |
