Multnomah Monthly Meeting, Bridge City Friends Meeting, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, Friends, Worship
Located at 4312 SE Stark St.

Quakers worship in two ways, Un-Programed (we are all ministers for one another) and Programmed (a more traditional style of worship with a minister). Currently, there are two places of worship for Un-Programmed Quakers in Portland, Multnomah Monthly Meeting http://www.multnomahfriends.org and Bridge City Friends Meeting http://www.bridgecitymeeting.org. In plain speak, going to "Meeting" (for worship) is going to church and a Monthly Meeting indicates that it is a group that meets on a monthly basis to conduct business. Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon brings together Christian Faiths from across the state. EMO has several ministries, works on public policy, has a nationally recognized environmental stewardship program and works to increase and enhance dialogue between various forms of faith and worship. http://www.emoregon.org.

Queen of Angels Monastery, Mt. Angel, Oregon, Mustard, St. Benedict, Benedictine Monastery, Oblate, Shalom Prayer Center, Retreat Center
Angelic Honey Garlic mustard

The Queen of Angels Monastery in Mt. Angel, Oregon can be found at http://www.benedictine-srs.org. In addition, for all you mustard lovers, their mustard is absolutely the best in the world (I might be partial) and can be ordered on line at https://www.monasterymustard.com/shop/ . The Monastery also has a retreat center, The Shalom Prayer Center, http://www.benedictine-srs.org/shalom.html that holds classes, prayer of the heart, contemplative prayer and is a place to go on retreat when you are in need of some time just for you.

Center for Spiritual Development, Marianne Borg, Marcus Borg, Seeking God, Spiritual Direction

The Center for Spiritual Development is located at Trinity Episcopal Church in Portland. http://www.center-for-spiritual-development.org.  The Center is a source for lectures & classes as well as retreats & pilgrimages.

There is a wealth of information available on line on the Sefirot and the Kabbalah. The source for the diagram that is here is from:

http://www.sparknotes.com/philosophy/kabbalah/section6.rhtml where you can find a comprehensive explanation of the ten Sefirot. Two other links that I like are:  http://www.inner.org  and http://www.selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=10sefirot; although, there is a lot "out there" that may appeal to you better.

Faces of light, sefirot, kabbalah, P'nai Or, welcoming
P'Nai Or of Portland - "Faces of Light" - All are welcome

I first became interested in Judaism in high school as many of my friends were Jewish. Some were Orthodox and had strict practices, others were not. My studies locally led to Rabbi Aryeh Hirsdhfield, http://rebaryeh.com/  of P’nai Or, http://www.pnaiorpdx.org.

St. Louis Wolf Sanctuary, Wild Canid Center, Endangered Species, Wolf
Extinction is forever - God created all species

The Wild Candid Research Center in St. Louis was one of the first in the country to focus on the recovery of this incredible species.

http://www.wildcanidcenter.org  Locally, Wolf Haven in Tenino, WA is dedicated to sheltering wolves that have, for one reason or another, run into conflict with humans. http://www.wolfhaven.org
